Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 5, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Whistle ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the Whistle app and website, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to all our users, from determining basic stuff like figuring out your location to find local games, to more complex things like processing payouts and verifying credentials. The types of information we collect include:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, phone number.
  • Professional Information: Certifications, experience level, referee board affiliations.
  • Financial Information: Payment and payout data handled securely via Stripe.
  • Location Data: Device GPS coordinates (only when checking in or actively searching for local game assignments).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  • To present our platform and its contents to you.
  • To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.
  • To facilitate the auto-assignment matching algorithm based on location, availability, and rating.
  • To process payments and payouts via Stripe.
  • To verify check-in locations for game integrity.
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us (or hosts).

4. Double-Blind Review System

To ensure safety and quality, hosts and officials review each other post-game. These reviews are maintained in a double-blind system. Your numerical public rating may be displayed to algorithmic assignors and hosts to ensure meritocratic assignment. Private written reviews are only visible to platform Administrators and Referee Board Organizers.

5. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All database operations are protected via Row Level Security (RLS) constraints, ensuring users only access data they are explicitly authorized to view.
